Interview with Kenichi Takanaka
Living in the mountains, artist Kenichi Takanaka weaves a world uniquely his own through ceramics and painting. The source of his creativity lies in the kaiju and outer space he was completely absorbed in as a child, as well as the experiences he has faced in everyday life, which continue to breathe within his work. His days spent living in harmony with nature and in quiet reflection are closely connected to his creations, revealed in Takanaka’s works, where “living” and “creating” are interwoven, alongside the life and experiences that inform them. -
Interview with Leander Angerer
In 2019, in Paris, ARTS&SCIENCE met RACING ATELIER designer Leander Angerer. It was a moment when their shared values—how things come into being and how they should be delivered—resonated profoundly. After several years, their philosophies and techniques came together, giving rise to a project called ESSENTIALS. We spoke with him about this endeavor, born of a thoughtful and sincere engagement with the question: “What is truly essential?”

Behind the Scenes – Suk-Keun Kang
Suk-Keun Kang is a Korean woodworking craftsman. He creates lacquerware by carving wood, a living material, layering lacquer, and finishing the pieces through high-temperature firing. Building on traditional techniques, he uses a method of his own design to cure the lacquer. This introduction provides insight into the artist and the background of his work, where a deep respect for materials and tradition coexists with a dynamic approach to innovation.
