BOBOUTIC – 2023AW Collection

〈BOBOUTIC〉is an Italian knitwear brand established in 2000 by knitwear designer Michel Bergamo and architect/photographer Cristina Zamagni. Taking everyday experience and injecting it into their knitwear, the designer duo creates innovative pieces in which traditional knit-and-stitch techniques are combined with constant research for new materials and production methods. The brand has been shown at Arts & Science since the beginning of their collection.

One of the designer duo most important objectives is to find new ways for the knitwear to tell its own story. The yarn, considered as an endless line, is ideally kept intact by rejecting the use of scissors in the making of the garments. Boboutic designers consider knits an ideal medium, since its versatility allows conceiving unique surfaces and unexpected shapes. The inspiration and originality for the theme of every season is always new and different.

The theme of the Autumn Winter 2023 collection is about The Albino Camel. “The story that goes beyond the desert and arrives elsewhere. It may have been a mirage, a beam of light, a shade of color. At some point, someone in the species must have been born with another skin. Something abnormal and unexpected. Or perhaps it was just imagined… The albino camel lives outside the flow of time, jumping through wordless stories, suggesting enchantments and shapes, extreme color encounters that seem not to exist.”

From Friday, September 29th the collection will also be available to see at A&S Kyoto and A&S Fukuoka. We look very forward to your visit and sharing the collection with you in person.

Knitwear designer Michel Bergamo and architect/photographer Cristina Zamagni collaborated to create the brand in 2000. Michel Bergamo (Lausanne, CH) is a fashion designer. He teaches Fashion Design at IUAV University in Venice. Cristina Zamagni (Rimini, I) is an architect and photographer. She teaches Fashion Design at IUAV University in Venice.　〈BOBOUTIC〉has been presented during Paris Fashion Week since 2001. Niccolò Magrelli (Rome, I) is a fashion designer. He joined〈BOBOUTIC〉 in 2012.
