This event was planned by A&S owner, Sonya Park’s special desire to “introduce the work and personality of Yasuko Goda, one of the pioneers of natural wine.”
On both days of the event, Goda will select wines from important producers that she has worked with in her career as a wine buyer. The wines have been carefully selected and her main goal is to maintain the original quality and condition of the wine. The wine will be served in optimum condition.
On Sunday the 25th, the main focus will be on Champagne, and on Monday the 26th, there will be a collection of wines with flavors that only emerge when quality, condition and the passage of time come together in unison. We look forward to seeing you there.
From Sonya Park
“Goda san is a wonderful wine buyer and importer, respected both at home and abroad as a pioneer in the field of natural wine. Moreover, as a mother and as a woman, she has an incredibly fascinating way of life. Her ability to select hearty wines belies her slender frame—she’s truly a superwoman! I’m pleased to introduce Madame Goda at this event to share more about her with everyone.”

PROFILE
Yasuko Goda
President and CEO of Racines Co., Ltd.
Goda attended a tasting techniques course at the University of Bordeaux in 1987. After returning to Japan, she worked as a wine buyer for a liquor import and wholesale company. In April 2003, she founded Racines with Masaaki Tsukahara. 30 years later, her ambition remains the same: to play the role of a black sheep between the winemaker and drinker, and to select “excellent, unknown wines from unknown regions”. She is still committed to discovering ‘excellent, unknown winemakers from unknown regions’. At the same time, she is dedicated to maintaining the condition of the wines through thorough temperature control during transport and storage in order to preserve the original flavor of the wines.
