We ask ourselves, "What kinds of foods would we like to eat and enjoy with family, friends, and colleagues?" And in response, we imagine a simple, savory cuisine made with integrity. At DOWN THE STAIRS, you will find a menu of beautifully seasoned, healthy, and ecologically responsible dishes and food items shaped around our idea of simple, communal enjoyment.

Our lunchtime menu changes daily, offering variety and surprises for our customers as well as the A&S staff. The rotation of dishes keeps our culinary offerings interesting for people who would like to make DOWN THE STAIRS a daily or frequent experience. The menu will typically encompass main dishes of fish or meat accompanied by a varied offering of vegetable-focused side dishes. Our dishes are made with ingredients that express the natural qualities of their terroir and the aesthetic perspective of their producers, all with an eye toward environmental responsibility. We cook with nutritious seasonal vegetables, wild fish, and organically raised meats. Our basic seasonings include soy sauce, mirin (Japanese seasonal liquor), and katsuobushi (Japanese dried bonito), which are all available for purchase in the store.

We aim to provide the perfect food experience to compliment the seasons, our events, and even our clothes.
