Flower Embroidery

The embroidery design is inspired by historical Japanese botanical paintings, with machine embroidery of spring gentiana, amsonia, ixeris (Asian dandelion) and fringed irises that bloom from spring to summer. We used thin threads to prevent the fabric from becoming stiff after stitching, and arranged different designs for the left and right front sides. The white background of the liner accentuates the presence of the embroidery.

  • Right front side (spring gentian, amsonia, ixeris, iris japonica / fringed irises)
  • Left front side (ixeris)

【Spring gentian】 A blue-purple flower from the plant of the genus Gentian that blooms from March to May, anually.
【Amsonia elliptica】 A perennial herbaceous plant of the family Apocynaceae, Gentianales. From May to June, the plant blooms light blue flowers.
【Ixeris】 A perennial plant of the Asteraceae family. Yellow flowers bloom from spring to summer.
【Iris japonica / fringed irises】An evergreen rhizomatous perennial with white or pale blue, orchid-like flowers that bloom from April to May.

Bal Collar Coat Embroidery

This bal collar coat is made with loose sleeves and a simple design with minimal decoration. For practicality to wear in spring and summer, we have selected silk cotton taffeta, a fabric made with silk for the warp and cotton for the weft thread. This Arts & Science original fabric shows paper-like elasticity and a silk-specific luster.
