amachi. × A&S Collaboration vol.3

“Observation Records of Light” is amachi.’s title for the newly launched 2019AW collection. In this collection - shaped through the everyday observation of lights - the designer brings the light which he considers to be “the sole primordial element evoking nature amidst the urban environment”, its reflection, vicissitude of color, change and prism to create a collection inspired by the phenomenon of light through the development of original fabrics and details.

The brand’s original collection will be showcased along with a series of items developed in collaboration with A&S.

Collaboration between the artist Kurina Ninomiya and amachi.

  • amachi. × Kurina Ninomiya “SKY GRADATION”

INFORMATION

  • PROFILE
Kurina Ninomiya was born in Toyama prefecture in 1984. Ninomiya started creating three dimensional objects using drawing, collage and knitting while she was a student at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo. In 2018, she moved her artistic base from Toyama to Tokyo.

New amachi. x A&S collaboration project

The first collaboration piece is made by using a classical A&S fabric on amachi.’s model. Exclusive items which embody the harmony of two brands will be available in three models: a coat, a jacket and an innerwear.

  • Meeting Jacket / amachi. × A&S
  • In this item which amachi. considers to be the modern workwear, we used A&S’s melton fabric which is known for its delicate softness.

  • Panel Top / amachi. × A&S

As the light shines on the garment, the part which reflects light will show an exquisite texture and contrast. We reproduced this scenery through cuts and fabrics. A&S original felted wool, which has an adequate thickness, is featured in this piece.

The last model is an exclusive version of amachi.’s big coat made from A&S’s Shetland wool.

Amachi.’s original collection “Collection 005 ‘Observation Records of Light’” will be available along with an installation at &SHOP in Tokyo and Kyoto. We look forward to your visit.
