SUPPER CLUB No.031 “Sushi Event”

For over 40 years, Yoshitomi Sushi has been a familiar name in Maizuru, Fukuoka. This special occasion brings its cuisine to the Kanto region for the first time, at 2ND FLOOR in Zaimokuza, Kamakura.

At Yoshitomi Sushi, each piece is crafted with meticulous care, honoring the local fish of Kyushu’s coastal waters and the harmony between the land’s bounty and traditional techniques. For this occasion, we invite you to savor a seasonal “omakase” menu, prepared from carefully selected ingredients, paired thoughtfully with natural wines from the ARTS&SCIENCE collection that complement the sushi.

 

This event is presented as part of A&S’s SUPPER CLUB initiative, which brings together people, time, and place through food. We hope you enjoy this singular, unforgettable dining experience.

PROFILE

Founded in 1979 in Maizuru, Fukuoka, by first-generation head chef Tō Yoshitomi, Yoshitomi Sushi has cultivated a distinctive style, meticulously applying traditional Edomae techniques. Each piece is crafted with care using methods such as marinating (zuke), preparing simmered soy glaze (nikiri), searing (aburi), and vinegar curing (sujime) on fish sourced from the nearby waters of Kyushu.
For over 40 years, Yoshitomi Sushi has attracted diners as a restaurant that delights the palate and challenges perceptions of taste and value. Under second-generation head chef Tomoko Watanabe, Yoshitomi Sushi continues to be refined through her delicate skill and refreshing sensibility.

 

Tomoko Watanabe, Head Sushi Chef
Born in 1978, Tomoko Watanabe worked as a company employee before training for about five years at Yoshitomi Sushi. In 2019, she moved to the U.S. and worked at Marlow & Sons in New York. After returning to Japan, she became the second-generation head chef at Yoshitomi Sushi.

SUPPER CLUB

A&S’s SUPPER CLUB is a collaborative initiative with chefs, centered on the experience of food. Bringing together cuisine, space, and people, it offers dishes that can only be enjoyed at this event. Held irregularly, each event is designed to create delightful moments through dining.
