Among the lineup are decorations that embody Mitate’s distinctive sensibility, such as Ema, featuring a straw horse set against a lacquered cedar plaque, and Kicchō Mochi, an arrangement of pine, bamboo, and plum branches combined with rice cakes in white, green (mugwort), and red (horse chestnut).
Kicchō Mochi is a decoration that signifies an auspicious omen, much like the small bamboo lucky charms (fukusasa) and rake-shaped talismans (kumade) seen at the Tōka Ebisu Festival. It may also be beautifully displayed together with a gourd-shaped hanging vase. The gourd-shaped vase by Masao Kozumi is available exclusively through ARTS&SCIENCE.
The pre-order event will travel to A&S Aneyakoji Kyoto, A&S Daikanyama (Tokyo), and A&S Zaimokuza Kamakura.
We invite you to visit and explore this special collection as you prepare to welcome the New Year.
