The name of this exhibition is called, ‘Gyoku (Hard, precious stones such as jade, agate and crystal).’ The works are featured in a white color expression reminiscent of white porcelain, known as Gyoku glass. This current series is made of milky white glass. Please enjoy the difference in appearance due to the color. Kozumi’s new Penny Lick glass will also be presented for the first time, which was a special request for a new shape made by Arts & Science. In addition, we will also have a collection of Kozumi’s standard collection of light-green glass pieces. We look forward to welcoming you to the exhibition.
PROFILE
Glass artist Masao Kozumi was born in Kumamoto in 1979. A graduate of Toyama City Institute of Glass Art, he began his work in Asahimachi, Toyama. Kozumi is currently based in Gifu, where he presents his work through his independent gallery. His nostalgic, pale green glasses, which are much thinner than they appear, have a serene sophistication that is a perfect match for Japanese food. Kozumi’s glass rondels are currently featured at HIN / Arts & Science and Arts & Science Fukuoka.
