2024AW Pre-Collection “Old Cotton Gabardine Chambray”

Old Cotton Gabardine Chambray is one of the staple fabrics of A&S, continuously produced since the brand’s first collection. It is a timeless fabric that transcends eras and genders, making an appearance almost every season. This high-density, yarn-dyed chambray twill is intentionally left without mercerization or water-repellent finishing. Instead, a dry tumbler process is used to create natural wrinkles, giving the fabric a casual appearance. Cotton Gabardine Chambray Vintage, with its distinct finishing, is inspired by the texture of Burberry trench coat fabric from the 1920s. To recreate a well-worn feel, a special treatment is applied to give it a vintage, natural appearance. Building on these casual fabrics, the Cotton Silk Gabardine Chambray was created by adding refinements to achieve a cleaner, more sophisticated look. The fabric is woven to an extremely high density, using gassed yarn made from fine-count double-twisted Finx cotton in the warp and gassed yarn made from spun silk in the weft. This results in a thin, lightweight fabric with a smooth texture and a glossy finish, primarily used in women’s items.

The 2024 AW Pre-Collection introduces new outerwear for both women and unisex styles. The main collection is expected to be available in stores starting in September, with items being introduced gradually. We look forward to your visit.

*Gassed yarn refers to yarn that has passed through gas flames or electric heat to burn off the fuzz. By gas-singeing the yarn, a cleaner, smoother yarn is produced, which improves the handling on weaving machines and allows for a higher-density weave.
*Spun silk yarn is derived from spinning fibers obtained from silk waste and remnants from the silk production process.
