r a s a i for A&S – 2025SS Collection

Based in India, 〈asiam studio〉 oversees every stage of production in-house—from textile design to dyeing and sewing. Renowned for its craftsmanship and its conscientious approach to both people and the environment, the studio presents a new collection from its label 〈r a s a i〉. The collection will be available at ARTS&SCIENCE shops from Friday, July 11.

Hand rolling is a technique where the fabric’s edge is carefully rolled by hand and stitched to create a fine, neat finish.

The new collection features a range of garments made from Mulmul, a signature cotton fabric known for being comfortable against the skin. Traditionally woven by India’s most skilled artisans, Mulmul is an ultra-light, breathable cotton with a smooth, delicate texture. This season includes double-layered tops and outerwear, as well as a new shirt design finished with hand-rolled edging. These pieces offer a light and breezy feel that is perfect for the height of summer. In addition, a selection of small fabric items—such as bandanas, drawstring bags, and shawls—will be available exclusively at A&S Zaimokuza.

Coordinated looks from the new collection are showcased on A&S’s official Instagram.

MESSAGE

“At r a s a i, we maintain a commitment to craftsmanship that brings out the natural beauty of each material. We avoid excessive design elements and instead seek to express the character and texture of the fabrics through simple, thoughtful designs.
Our collection includes the classic cotton Mulmul, valued for its comfortable feel against the skin, as well as the ultra-light, handwoven Jamdani Khadi.
To fully enhance the feather-like lightness and translucent quality of these fabrics, the edges are finished by hand using the hand-rolled technique.
Hand-rolling is a meticulous process where the fabric edges are carefully rolled and stitched by hand, one stitch at a time.
This delicate technique creates a soft, natural curve that cannot be replicated by machine, further highlighting the lightness and clarity of the fabric without putting stress on its fragile fibers.”
