A Single Book “Fairy Tales Collection – Kenji Miyazawa (Collector’s Edition)”

“A Single Book” is an initiative at ARTS&SCIENCE Aneyakoji, Kyoto, presenting carefully selected new publications from multiple perspectives.

For the third edition, Yoshitaka Haba, representative of BACH, who deals with all things book-related, selected Fairy Tales Collection – Kenji Miyazawa (Collector’s Edition). This volume combines exquisite binding with delicate illustrations, making it as much a pleasure to behold as it is to read.

Excerpt from the book:

Giovanni let out a deep, sighing breath.

“Campanella, it’s just the two of us again. Let us journey together, to the ends of the earth. If it truly serves the happiness of all, I would not mind if my body were burned a hundred times over, like that scorpion.”

“Yes. I feel the same,” said Campanella, tears welling in his clear eyes.

MESSAGE

“In times when the world feels uncertain, it is precisely the moment to quietly reflect on our lives and the ways we choose to live, keeping our feet firmly on the ground.
I wanted readers today to encounter Kenji Miyazawa’s rooted philosophy, his pure innocence, and the insights he offers on maintaining one’s dignity.
The recently released edition includes 17 of his most iconic stories and poems, and with its meticulously crafted binding, it is a volume meant to be treasured and read for generations. I felt it is a book perfectly suited to A&S.”
