Yoshifumi Yamamoto “Austere life style, beautiful kitchen utensils”

Yoshifumi Yamamoto, is a wood artist who makes utensils with daily functionality in mind. He crafts his works with poetic and pictorial inspirations and never ceases to draw out a delicate charm from the raw material he selects. Arts & Science will present his first exhibition at HIN / Arts & Science in Kyoto from June 10th. We are featuring his kitchen utensils including cutting boards, cutlery, trays, storage boxes, and other items that will make your everyday tasks more enjoyable.

In addition, this occasion we are also exhibiting a new group of works called “Meiboku Shiotsubo (precious wood salt jars).” These are a collection of antiques selected by A&S director and owner Sonya Park, with a lid made of Meiboku (precious woods) by Yoshifumi Yamamoto. On June 10th and 11th, Yamamoto will be present at the shop. On these days he will personally take special orders for his “Meiboku lids.” They will be custom made to fit your personal vessel that may have lost their matching lid. *See below for details
