This exhibition is a part of a touring event following Tokyo’s OVER THE COUNTER and Kyoto’s HIN/ Arts & Science, Nijodori Kyoto. It will feature two A&S custom series incorporating new approaches to materials, sizes, and paint, along with works dyed with indigo. While the focus will be on new and custom creations, some of IFUJI’s staple vegetal-dyed pieces will also be included.
Indigo Dyeing
These works are crafted using the traditional Japanese indigo dyeing method. The rich and deep hues are achieved with dyeing solutions created through the fermentation of indigo plants in wood ash lye at IFUJI’s own workshop.
A&S Exclusive / Custom Series
Sen
This new series uses premium paulownia wood sourced from Hokkaido, which has been sawn and meticulously dried over a period of more than three years. Each piece features a white wood finish that preserves the natural color of the wood, characterized by a delicate beige tone and a warm, gentle texture.
White Paint
This new series was created with the theme of “white.” After testing numerous color samples, a paint with subtle gray undertones, avoiding excessive brightness, was selected and applied to the surface of maple wood.
- Please note that no orders will be taken during this exhibition. Only ready-made pieces will be available for purchase.
