Exhibition and Sales Event for IFUJI

An exhibition and sales event showcasing woodwork craftsman Masashi Ifuji's brand 'IFUJI' will be held at OVER THE COUNTER in Tokyo and HIN / Arts & Science, Nijodori Kyoto. At this event, we will present A&S exclusive boxes and tableware made to order.

Event details

This year’s exhibition and sales event will feature three A&S exclusive series incorporating new materials, sizes, and paint techniques, along with works dyed with indigo. While the focus will be on new and custom creations, some of the classic items from IFUJI, such as cherry, Sando-guro (triple black), and vegetal-dyed pieces, will also be available.

IFUJI’s woodwork is crafted with the philosophy of creating truly essential items for daily life, meticulously carved from large pieces of wood and finished by hand. Explore the essence of this craftsmanship, highlighted by the signature oval boxes.

Japanese Indigo Dyeing

This new collection features traditional Japanese indigo dyeing, showcasing unique deep colors created using dyeing solution made in IFUJI’s own studio. This exhibition will mark the first time these creations are unveiled to the public.
Indigo dye solution is made through the fermentation of indigo plants in wood ash lye.

A&S Limited Edition / Custom Order Collection

Sen

This new series is crafted from premium paulownia wood sourced from Hokkaido, which has been sawn and meticulously dried over a period of more than three years. Each piece features a white wood finish that preserves the wood’s natural color, with a delicate beige hue and a warm, gentle texture.

White Paint

This new series is inspired by the theme of “white.” A paint with a subtle gray tone, chosen from many samples, was applied to the surface of maple wood.

Black Walnut

This is a series of classic custom-order materials from A&S. Previously, only small sizes up to #6 were available, but this time we will also offer larger sizes up to #10 in a limited quantity.

  • Orders will not be accepted at this exhibition, and only items for sale will be available.
  • The exhibition may conclude early if all items are sold out prior to the end of the period. We appreciate your understanding.
