Cosi Tabellini “Order Event”

From Friday, March 17th, at WHITE BOX, we will hold an order event for Cosi Tabellini, an Italian homeware brand that proposes product designs that relate to a modern lifestyle.

Event details

Pewter is a metal that is rather simple to process due to its low boiling point, and because of its aesthetic beauty, the material has long been used suitable for tableware and other daily homewares. From the 14th century to the 17th century, England became the center of this industry, and in the latter half of the 19th century, during the Arts and Crafts movement and the Art Nouveau era, various items were released in pewter shaped by its distinct characteristics.

Cosi Tabellini uses this pewter material, rooted in its European culture, to propose products that relate to a modern lifestyle. Although the finish seems very product-like and has a sense of unity, each finish has a unique taste because the process always involves the skills of traditional Italian craftsmen.

At this order event, we have an array of works that are not usually introduced at Arts & Science, including tableware of plates, mugs, and cutlery, flower vases and candle holders. There is no other place in Japan showing these different styles from Cosi Tabellini. We invite you to please find this rare occasion to come and visit the shop to make your personal order.

PROFILE

Cosi Tabellni pewter is handmade in northern Italy by artisans who have honed their craft using methods gleaned over many generations. The number 95, stamped on their products, certifies that the pewter is made from 95% tin. Additional stamps indicate the workshop and location. Pewter tarnishes very slowly and requires almost no maintenance. Each piece is made with a lead-free alloy of tin, copper, and antimony that is food safe.
