Raised in Lausanne, Switzerland, and now working out of Japan, William Oweson launched his own brand, William Oweson Förlag, in 2023. He oversees everything from pattern-making to sewing the samples. His concept revolves around offering a sense of unrestricted comfort. Disliking the seasonal changes often seen in fashion, Oweson’s collection designs remain largely consistent. He emphasizes crafting comfortable clothing that aligns with the body’s posture and movements. The 2024 AW collection continues to explore movement, shape, and sensory comfort, building on the previous season.

PROFILE
Born in 1997 in Stockholm, Sweden, and raised in Lausanne, Switzerland, William Oweson is a philosopher, writer, poet, figurative painter, and clothing artisan. His work is grounded in late Stoic philosophy but has evolved into a refined form of courtly detachment, moving towards the creation of an existential aesthetic system. After studying at the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins in 2022, he now resides in Tokyo, Japan, where he bases his creative work.
