Among the lineup are decorations that embody Mitate\u2019s distinctive sensibility, such as Ema, featuring a straw horse set against a lacquered cedar plaque, and Kicch\u014d Mochi, an arrangement of pine, bamboo, and plum branches combined with rice cakes in white, green (mugwort), and red (horse chestnut).<\/p>\n

Kicch\u014d Mochi is a decoration that signifies an auspicious omen, much like the small bamboo lucky charms (fukusasa<\/em>) and rake-shaped talismans (kumade<\/em>) seen at the T\u014dka Ebisu Festival. It may also be beautifully displayed together with a gourd-shaped hanging vase. The gourd-shaped vase by Masao Kozumi is available exclusively through ARTS&SCIENCE.<\/p>\n

Mitate was established in April 2013, in Shichiku, Kita-ku in Kyoto. Mitate creates flower arrangements and ornaments using boxes by using wild flowers and plants of the season.
