After that experience, he traveled through various parts of the world, encountering different food cultures. The name \u201cm\u00eaek,\u201d meaning \u201ccloud\u201d in Thai, pays tribute to Kumo\u2014a caf\u00e9 that once occupied the same space and whose name also means \u201ccloud\u201d in Japanese. Cherished by the local community for over 50 years, the caf\u00e9\u2019s legacy is honored through this name.<\/p>\n

\nAt 19, Hashimoto first visited Thailand and was captivated by the warmth of the people, the aromas of the cuisine, the gentle rhythm of the language, and the relaxed atmosphere. After returning to Japan, he trained at a Thai restaurant in Fukuoka before traveling throughout Asia, the Middle East, and Europe to explore diverse food cultures.
