Kenichi Takanaka\u2019s exhibition is an annual event at Arts & Science. This year, the artist’s first, a collection of new works of white porcelain will be introduced A&S owner Sonya Park, who saw the white porcelain pieces he had created, was attracted to their unique texture and requested to Takanaka to create pieces featuring this porcelain exhibition. The work is now being shared after the concept has been worked on for several years. In addition to ceramics and paintings, the exhibition will have also continued from last year to create his new painted styles featured on small leather goods and knitwear made in collaboration with A&S.<\/p>\n

Please enjoy this special feature of original works by Takanaka. He is an artist that creates using classical techniques, however he always has new free forms of expression coming from within himself and his originality. The forms of expression we feel have evolved expansively as he continues to create over the years. Kenichi Takanaka is a chirographer, painter, and potter. He was born in Toride-shi, Ibaraki in 1966. Beginning his education at Gakushuin University, Takanaka later left in order to teach himself the techniques of calligraphy, painting, and pottery. In 1993 he set up his kiln and studio in Otaki, Chiba, where he devotes himself to his artistic activities while leading a semi self-sufficient life with livestock.
