As always, I developed the new season from the existing stock of available fabrics: the creative exercise here is unusual because, as a rule, one usually starts afresh from a new research of fabrics and from a brand new colour palette. Our unorthodox situation is nevertheless utterly stimulating since A&S fabrics are certainly all beautiful and since we indeed do share the same exact taste. In fact, if this kind of starting point to some may seem confined and full of limits, I find that in such peculiar circumstances the eventual creative possibilities to produce objects of beauty are just endless. The concept behind my super-tight edit is very simple: I chose the quintessential and most basic summer fabrics that I link to a style which is timeless and forever chic. This narrow selection informed three different small groups, each defined by its own theme and offer of distinctive products, possibly imagined as separate deliveries. The groups consist of \u201cThe Evergreen Khaki Look\u201d and \u201cMiscellaneous\u201d that will launch in February, and \u201cThe Romantic Summer White Look\u201d which will launch in April. The iconic cotton chambray vintage and the silk spun cre\u0302pe vintage inspired a group of garments with a \u2018colonial\u2019 look, with direct references to workwear, army and chinos. The exquisite white high-count special cottons and the high- count linen washer evoked romantic cotton thread embroideries by delicate handiwork on a choice of ethereal summer Edwardian dresses (all of which could be valid in their non-embroidered plain versions too). The bafu cotton cloth guided me towards a taste for graphic, yet muted colour-blocking and simple shapes, embellished with delicious tonal silk ribbons. The sophisticated silhouettes are addressed to the most demanding and discerning A&S\/Zanini clientele, and the styles proposed here fill me with inexpressible enthusiasm for this precious collaboration based on our shared aesthetics.<\/p>\n
