- Kazumi Tsuji + factory zoomer — “Rainbowder”
For the third time, ARTS&SCIENCE welcomes the glass artist, Kazumi Tsuji for an exhibition from Saturday, October 26th through Monday, November 4th (Japanese national holiday) at our venue, AT THE CORNER. Together with colorful glass pieces, the exhibition will also feature “Rainbowder (border of rainbows)” which aims to see things from various perspectives. This will be the final exhibition for AT THE CORNER.
The artist will be at the venue on Saturday, October 26th. We look forward to seeing you there.
『Five years ago, it was in New York where I sat the Rainbow Parade for the first time. The parade was full of people advocating the idea of “genderless”. Among the participants, there were also quite a number of misogynists, people with handicaps and immigrants. That’s when I realized that the rainbow was the symbol of not only a genderless society but also a determination of the people to create a discrimination-free society. It is nearly 15 years since I have been working with the theme of “color”. My hope is that I would like to slowly tackle the major problem of discrimination through colors and everyday objects like glasses. And for this exhibition, I am taking another step to work on rainbows—but let’s not forget the importance of elements like “kawaii” too. — Kazumi Tsuji』
